01 Schools & Faculties

Nine faculties, one intellectual commons.

Undergraduates cross departmental lines freely — a physicist can read jurisprudence, a lawyer can sit in on a poetry seminar. A selection of our nine faculties, which together award more than 120 degrees.

02 Why Классический

A small-college feel with a research university behind it.

We keep seminars deliberately small and our library deliberately open. The result is a place where you are known by name and still stand within reach of world-class research the moment you are ready for it.

  • The 24-hour Halloran Library holds 2.1 million volumes and never dims during term.
  • Seminar classes are capped at 18 students, taught by faculty rather than assistants.
  • Sixty research centers share $480M in annual funding — and hire undergraduates.
  • Housing is guaranteed for all four undergraduate years, steps from the quad.

03 The numbers behind the name

Four years that pay off for decades.

22:1 Student-to-faculty ratio across every faculty
94% Graduates employed or in grad school within six months
$480M Annual research funding across sixty centers
160+ Student clubs, societies and athletic teams

04 Campus Life

Life on the quad, from dawn to the late reading light.

Between lectures there are boat houses and observatories, choirs and debate halls, and a hundred acres of green to think on. A campus is a curriculum of its own.
